Discover Local Woodlands with Free October Countryside Events

woodlandChildren and adults alike will have plenty to do in the countryside in October with a programme of events packed with fun activities to discover the local wildlife and to get to grips with useful outdoor skills like den building and orienteering.

Friday 14 October, 10.30am – 11.30am, Toddler Time in the Wild, Make a hedgehog and hunt for food for it. Horseshoe Clump car park, Portsmouth Road, opposite Blackhills, KT10 9JQ

Sunday 16 October, 10am – 12 noon, Fungi Walk. Copsem Lane car park, Copsem Lane, nearest postcode KT10 9HQ

Monday 24 October, 10am – 12 noon, Den Building, Can you build a den that can withstand the elements? Copsem Lane car park, Copsem Lane, nearest postcode KT10 9HQ

Saturday 29 October, drop in between 10am and 11.30am, event finishes at 12.30pm
Try one of the five permanent orienteering courses on the commons. Horseshoe Clump car park, Portsmouth Road, opposite Blackhills, KT10 9JQ

Saturday 29 October, 2pm – 3.30pm, Shelter Belt Walk, Find out about management and future plans for the A3 shelter belt. Sandy Lane car park, Sandy Lane, nearest postcode KT22 0NX
